About the Survey

Help the Home Office to tackle crimes against businesses

The Commercial Victimisation Survey (CVS) is an important Home Office survey on the nature, extent and cost of crimes against businesses in England and Wales. It is used to:

We need to hear from as many businesses as possible, including yours

We are interested in speaking with as many businesses as possible, whether or not your business has been a victim of crime. Only then can we be sure that the results represent the experiences of all businesses.

An Ipsos MORI interviewer may call you

Ipsos MORI, an independent social research organisation, is carrying out the survey on behalf of the Home Office. The survey will take place between September and December 2017. During this time, an Ipsos MORI interviewer may call you to conduct an interview over the telephone, or to arrange a convenient time to call back. The interview should take about 20 minutes. All responses will remain totally confidential and anonymous for all individuals and organisations.

You will be provided with a link to a short web survey before the telephone interview. Answering this short survey will make the telephone interview shorter as we will already have some initial information from you. Alternatively, you will be sent a paper version in the post and you may find it helpful to fill it in and have it to hand for the telephone interview.

If your business is selected at random to participate in this survey, we would be very grateful for your time and would very much appreciate your input into this important survey.
